Scotch® Filament Tape 897 is a 6.0 mil strapping tape built with a clear polypropylene backing reinforced by fiberglass yarn filaments and bonded with a synthetic rubber adhesive. The yarn reinforcement delivers strong tensile resistance, making this tape distinctly capable for bundling, unitizing, and securing heavy loads where standard tapes would stretch or fail under tension.
This tape performs reliably in warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, and fulfillment environments. It handles carton reinforcement before shipment, palletized load stabilization, and closure of heavy corrugated cases. The backing resists moisture, abrasion, and scuffing, maintaining integrity through demanding transit and storage conditions.
Each roll is 2 inches wide by 60 yards long with a 6.0 mil total thickness. The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds to corrugated, plastic, metal, and most common packaging surfaces. Cases are packed 24 rolls and ship via parcel carrier. Filament tape dispensers are available separately for higher-volume application workflows.
