3M™ 4979F VHB™ (Very High Bond) Tape delivers a 62 mil black acrylic foam core with dual-sided acrylic adhesive and a red polyethylene liner. Its conformable foam construction maintains continuous contact across the entire bond line, distributing stress and dampening vibration in ways mechanical fasteners cannot replicate.

This tape is well matched to structural bonding in electronics manufacturing, automotive trim assembly, architectural panel attachment, and industrial equipment fabrication. The foam core conforms to textured, irregular, or slightly uneven surfaces, making it practical where surface consistency cannot be guaranteed.

The 4979F formulation resists moisture, UV exposure, plasticizers, and solvents for reliable performance in both interior and exterior environments. Operating range spans -40°F to 200°F, and the tape carries a UL 746C listing for electronic applications. Sold as a single roll; ships via parcel carrier.
